Server Setup Guide
Step-by-step guide to installing and running a Palworld Dedicated Server on Linux using SteamCMD and Systemd.
1. Install SteamCMD & Dependencies
Enable 32-bit architecture and install SteamCMD on Debian or Ubuntu:
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt update
sudo apt install lib32gcc-s1 steamcmd -y2. Download Palworld Dedicated Server
Create a dedicated system user and download Palworld Server files (AppID 2394010):
sudo useradd -m -s /bin/bash steam
sudo su - steam
steamcmd +force_install_dir ~/palworld +login anonymous +app_update 2394010 validate +quit3. Configure Systemd Auto-Start Daemon
Create a systemd service file to manage server uptime and automatic restarts:
sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/palworld.servicePaste the following service configuration:
[Unit]
Description=Palworld Dedicated Server
After=network.target
[Service]
Type=simple
User=steam
WorkingDirectory=/home/steam/palworld
ExecStart=/home/steam/palworld/PalServer.sh -port=8211 -players=32 -useperfthreads -NoAsyncLoadingThread -UseMultithreadForDS
Restart=always
[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.targetEnable and start the server service:
sudo systemctl daemon-reload
sudo systemctl enable --now palworld
Ensure port
8211/udp is allowed in your firewall: sudo ufw allow 8211/udp.
